Edit inventors, the applicant, and add a benefit-claim row on a Patent Center bibliographic XML before converting it, or add a raw text-only signature to an already-generated ADS. This tool never converts or signs a PDF submission for you -- every output is a file you download and use in the existing, unmodified ADS from USPTO XML tool yourself.
What can I upload?
Upload any of four things — the format is detected for you, and what happens next depends on what it turns out to be:
USPTO Patent Center bibliographic XML — edited here, as before.
WIPO PCT XML — a parent. You choose how the new US application relates to it, then a child ADS is generated.
A previously-generated ADS XML — already a finished ADS, so it opens for signing rather than editing.
An already-filled ADS PDF — its data is extracted and its SHA-512 shown, then treated as the ADS it contains.
Foreign priority access codes (DAS) appear only for a WIPO PCT export, in its own panel, and every one needs your tick; nothing else on this page shows or touches them.
Uploaded PDF SHA-512:
This is a WIPO PCT application.
How does the new US application you are preparing relate to it? This tool will not choose for you — the relationship is a characterisation of the filing, not a formatting preference.
Claim small entity status on this ADS?
This is your assertion under 37 CFR 1.27, and it decides the fee actually owed. Nothing is pre-selected: not from the uploaded file, not from your settings, and not from the last ADS you made. You must answer it every time, on every ADS.
Required when there is an applicant. Nothing is pre-selected: the form's own box has no default, and choosing one is your assertion. Leave it blank only if there is no separate applicant (the inventor is the applicant).

Upload a previously-generated ADS XML (the output of ADS from USPTO XML's own "Download output XML") or an already-filled ADS PDF. You type your complete signature yourself, exactly as it should appear -- this tool never fills in or completes any part of it.

Signature
This checks the format only (starts/ends with a forward slash, non-empty in between; date as YYYY-MM-DD) -- it is not a guarantee your signature meets 37 CFR 1.4(d)(2)'s "reasonably specific" legal standard. Type it yourself; nothing here constructs or completes it for you.
The signed, filled PDF build failed for this file -- the signed XML download above still works.
Upload one or more files (Patent Center XML, WIPO PCT XML, a previously-generated ADS XML, or an ADS PDF -- format auto-detected per file) to see the continuity/benefit-claim chain as a graph. A single file's own continuity data can already span many generations -- upload more than one only if the chain is split across separately-held files.
Click a node to see its details here.
Arrows point from parent to child (the direction of continuity). Solid gray nodes were uploaded directly; hollow/dashed nodes are only known from another file's own continuity reference to them.
